It is my greatest honor to serve as Mayor of the Village of Bellaire, a community that shaped who I am and one I am proud to call home. I grew up here, graduated from Bellaire High School, and my commitment to this village is both personal and deeply rooted. I am dedicated to honoring our past while actively working toward a stronger, more vibrant future. Bellaire thrives when residents, village employees, and leadership work together, and I believe open communication, thoughtful planning, and strong customer service across all departments are essential to that success.
I invite you to discover the Village of Bellaire, a place rich in history and community pride, where neighbors look out for one another and new faces are always welcome. From our charming downtown and historic landmarks like the Bellaire Viaduct and the early commercial architecture that gives Main Street its unique character, to the scenic beauty along the Ohio River and the parks that bring people together, Bellaire is a great place to live, work, and raise a family.
My top priority as mayor is infrastructure. Much of our infrastructure is decades old, and many of the concerns residents raise today, including street paving, water lines, and fire hydrants, have been years in the making. While these challenges were not created overnight, addressing them is essential to safety, reliability, and long-term progress. Updating water lines and ensuring all fire hydrants are fully functional must come first. Once these critical needs are met, I plan to move forward with village-wide beautification efforts that reflect the pride we have in our community and support the vision of Bellaire as the All-American town it should be.
We are also excited about the projects ahead that will enhance quality of life and support local growth. Plans are underway for a new recreation and entertainment complex at Commerce Park, featuring tournament-ready pickleball courts, a performance stage, walking trails, and amenities designed to bring residents and visitors together for sports and community events. A mixed-use housing development with new townhomes is scheduled for completion in phases through 2026, expanding year-round housing options and supporting workforce stability. We also celebrate continued economic momentum with the expansion of Technocap’s facility in our village, creating jobs and new opportunities for our local workforce.
Education and community services remain a priority. The Bellaire Local School District continues to support student success, and recent additions such as the school-based health center make essential care more accessible for students and families. Our local businesses, community events, parks, and recreation spaces add energy and connection to everyday life in Bellaire.
From ancient beginnings to modern-day progress, Bellaire’s story is one of resilience, ingenuity, and strong community spirit. We are proud of our past, excited about our future, and grateful to everyone who helps make Bellaire special. Let’s keep building together.
Sincerely,
Mayor Robert Dodrill, Sr
